The Holidays Already?!?

I can't believe it's Thanksgiving week and Logan is 10 months old. He's growing like a weed...doing the marine crawl, walking with assistance, etc. He's got basic mama, dada (mostly dada) down and can do hand signals for lots of his favorites...milk, pattycake

He's over 28 inches tall and 21 lbs. My baby boy is going to be a toddler soon!

July...a wonderful whirlwind!

Logan is growing SOOOOO fast! He had his last check up on the 21st...he's a whopping 17lbs 14oz...perfectly average! The doctor has ok'd him for any type of food.

Logan now hates lying down most of the time, unless it is to 'scoot.' 'Scooting' consists of lying on his back, arching up on his head, and pushing with all his might. How he hasn't broken his neck, I'll never know!

He has learned that he loves to stand...he'll sit on his blanket and hold his hands out looking for help to pull himself up. We're practicing falling to a sitting position to, hopefully, reduce the number of impending boo-boos.

I'm trying to enjoy the last 2 weeks of my vacation as much as possible. We are planning a trip to NJ to introduce Logan to our beloved yankee family and attend a wedding. Wish us luck, as Logan hasn't ridden in a car for longer than 2 hours at a time ever!

Another big weekend...

Life just continues to amaze me. Logan is growing like a weed and is doing new things everyday. He finally decided to roll over for me last week...though he's been doing it for a while for Grandma, Nana, and Aunt Casey. It even got comical Saturday when everytime Mike would leave the room, Logan would roll over!

Logan did allow daddy to see him roll over on Father's day. He had rolled onto his belly during the night and rolled over and over for Mike while I was getting ready. We spent Father's Day at Hanging Rock Lake. Logan got to go in the water for the first time! He seemed to enjoy it and was simply mesmorized by the little minnows swimming around us in the water. We can't wait to take him to the pool in a few weeks.

Baptisms, New Foods, and Summer Begins

Today was the official start of our summer. It's been a very busy week! I had the end of school and graduation on Saturday. Then Sunday, Logan was baptized! We had a wonderful ceremony at the church...Logan didn't make a peep! Pastor Doug said he was the best baby he's ever baptized! :)

We had a BBQ at our house after the service. Boy was it hot!! Our friends and families were real troopers and we all had a wonderful time, especially Logan (who slept through the whole party). Later that night, we decided to give peas another try...only homemade by mommy! He LOVED them! Sure, not as much as his sweet potatoes, but he doesn't even need them mixed with anything else!

Next on the foods to try will be bananas, green beans, and prunes!

Logan tries peas

Starting Food

Logan started food this week. He absolutely HATED the greens that the doctor told us to start on. Spit them all out AND cried! (The video really is funny.) So, we switched to apples/applesauce. He LOVES it, of course! We're for preparing his baptism in a few weeks. Mike and I have lots of plans for the house, not sure how many we will be able to complete.

Four Months Old!!!

Logan is officially 4 months old today!

We went to the doctor, got all of his measurements, and got his vaccinations. He was a real trouper through the whole process. The doctor says he looks great. He's average height, below average weight, and has a big head (98th percentile)! LOL!

Length: 25 inches
Weight: 14 lbs, 14 oz.

We also got the official go ahead to start on veggies and fruits. So, this weekend will be our first trial with green beans! Let the fun begin!

Squeaky Toy Son

So, Logan was apparently born with a squeak toy above his voice box. When he starts laughing he will just SQUEAK!! It is truly hysterical and I had to catch it on video. I hope you enjoy...it won't let me upload it here, but you can check it out on Facebook! http://www.facebook.com/acdurkos

A Blogging Beginning

So, with all of our family and friends spread so far around the world, we have decided to start blogging to keep everyone updated with the activities of our daily lives.

Today's message will be short, but I hope you will return in the days and months to come to watch the progress of our little family and read about Logan's milestones.
